What do you think the chances are that Harry will learn to trust Snape? Impossible? Unlikely? Will Snape have to sacrifice his life for Harry to re-evaluate his opinion? Will Dumbledore have to die to bring them together? And will Snape ever learn to trust in return?

Well, after reading HBP, I would say that it would take nothing short of a miracle for Harry to trust Snape. Throughout the books Harry has not trusted Snape, even before he knew about his father's treatment of him, Harry was wary of Snape. I think that HBP just confirmed Harry's commitment of distrust when it comes to Snape, and lets face it, Snape hasn't done alot to earn Harry's trust either.

After HBP I seriously doubt that there's so much as a snowball's chance in summer of Harry and Snape trusting each other. The six years of downright meanness on Snape's side, coupled with the fact that he murdered the one man who Voldemort feared in cold blood, puts the odds of reconcilliation pretty high. Neutral

Harry did put his trust in Snape at least one time. In OOTP when being held by Umbridge, Harry remembers that there is one person from the Order still at Hogwarts when Snape comes in the room. Harry gives Snape the criptic messege that Sirius is being held at the MOM. Harry felt he had no other choice but to hope that the messege would be understood and passed on. Dumbledore's explaination of what happened after Snape left the office and how the messege was relayed is still not enough to make Harry believe that Snape is working for the benefit of the Order and not VM.
Trust is something that must be earned and once betrayed, is never the same. So far, Snape has done nothing, directly, to benefit anyone but himself. Even if, in book 7, Snape is proven to be actually working for the Order the entire time, him and Harry will never be friendly.
